We as parents are as porud as punch,11yrs ago we had a beautiful baby girl and named he Mollie Annie, she was an unexpected 9 weeks early and was a fragile little thing weighing in at 4lb 7oz.She was and still is stunningly beautiful , when i first saw her she was lying in her incubator, draped in wires and machinery, a scary sight for any new parents.
That little bundle grew into the most caring and sensitive soul, struggling at times with confidence, and shyness.
So that being said you can imagine and join in our excitemnt, that on Friday of this week, she came home from school beaming from ear to ear, clutching a large envelope.Mollie handed the envelope to me and as i opened it and read its contents i too beamed alongside her.
It read... Recently Mollie's school, submitted some of their pupils' work for a Young Writers' Mini Sagas competition. Children were asked to write a mini saga on a theme that inspired them, with the added challenge of using 50 words or less. Over 20,000 stories from the uk and overseas were entered, and i am delighted to inform you that Mollie has been chosen to have her saga published, for publication in Tiny Treaures The East Midlands and The East. A copy of this book is to be held at the British Librairies in the UK and Republic Of Ireland, to provide a lasting memeory of her achievement.
Enclosed in this was a certificate, which was duly framed and placed on the wall for all to see.
We will of course be buying a copy of the book, and any visitor will be made to read it,we are like i said as proud as punch, and through her struggles has proved that writing is a great source of confidence building. Well done Mollie we love you very very much.
